Welcome to the first post for the Ivy Phoenix blog. This isn't going to be a review or any in-depth content just yet, as I'm still working out a few kinks going on in the other HTML portions of my many related links and pages. But this is a brief introduction.

My name is Angel, and I created this site as well as the alias of The Ivy Phoenix. My goal here is to have a place to unleash my nerdism and share my thoughts and opinions with the majority of you who also enjoy and appreciate the finer things in life (i.e. nerd culture, sci-fi, MMORPGs, FPS, etc.)

The Ivy Phoenix is an alias I created based on two women in two different universes. Poison Ivy (Pamela Isley, DC Universe) and Phoenix (Jean Grey, Marvel Universe) It turns out that I seem to have a certain love for the redheaded women - usually donning green - found in comic books and in real life. My ultimate love - of course - is Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl), however she is not inspired in my alias due to not wanting to be the Ivy Phoenix Girl........ doesn't have a very good ring to it, does it?

I plan to design the Ivy Phoenix as a comic character at some point, whether commissioning someone else to draw it and my designing it or doing both, it will eventually happen. The goal here would be to don the original character costume at ComicCon, though tickets for that event are hard to come by. I love comic books, video games, science fiction (both in books and movies), and I geek out over anything nerd-culture that I could buy and own in my home. But that's a story for another day.

For now, welcome to my site, and I hope you will enjoy all that I will have to offer over time - as I'm sure it will be slow coming in the next few days due to my working a lot of hours and having to put the rest of the site together. Thanks for stopping by!
